Foster Feature: Shasta the Hidden Gem

Adoptable at Angels Of Rawley

Shasta’s Story

Shasta has been waiting for her fur-ever family since January of 2020. She’s been watching all her rescue friends get adopted throughout this pandemic, and has been wondering when her family is coming for her.

This little cutie is a young, 25 pound, female chihuahua and Australian shepherd mix. Initially rescued from Riverside shelter, Shasta unfortunately had suffered an injury that now requires she have assistance to go potty. Per her foster family, the process is relatively quick and easy, and shouldn’t deter the right family from taking her home! She sports a cute little diaper while inside, but can walk, play and run without one outside! Shasta has greatly improved her leash walking skills, and has been hard at work on her doggy socialization skills. She can be a bit reactive at times, so an owner that can give her the patience, grace and guidance she deserves is necessary.

This little girl is truly a hidden gem. She is intelligent, active, playful, and silly. Shasta will steal your heart in no time - all she needs is a chance.

Shasta’s Ideal Home

  • Located in Southern California

  • Works from home or has flexible enough schedule for diaper changes

  • Is dog savvy, and is ready for a dog that can be reactive at times

  • Likes to engage with and train their dog (Shasta is smart! She loves to learn new things, complete puzzles and play fetch)

  • Can be your only fur baby - (no other kids or pets!)

  • Wants to snuggle with her when she’s done playing (Foster mom says she loves to spoon!)

  • Can give her the loving home she has been waiting for for so long, and treat her like the princess she is!
