Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and if you’re looking for last minute gift ideas for that special dog or Dog Mom in your life, look no further! Fellow Dog Mom, Kylie from That One Dog Mom Blog, and I teamed up to share our best recommendations for gifts for your sweethearts (both human and canine)… You can read my recommendations for the dog mom in your life below, and Kylie’s recommendations for your dog here.
Number 1: Personalized Pet Products
A few of my all time favorite gifts have been personalized “Benji” products. A sweatshirt with an outline of Benji’s ears engraved on it and an adorable paw ring (symbolizing my eternal love for Benj) are two of my most prized possessions. Another great option is personalized pet portraits. We’ve seen some great ones done on shoes and jean jackets at @petpaintingsbynicole. If there’s one thing dog moms love… it’s repping their dogs. A quick search on etsy will yield plenty of results from clothing, and art to jewelry.

Number 2: A donation to a rescue close to their heart
One of the most thoughtful gifts you can give is donate to a cause close to the heart of your sweetheart. Whether that means supporting a local rescue (with money OR supplies) or donating to a dog-friendly cause - this gift will go beyond the traditional flowers and roses. It’s sure to touch her heart, and the hearts of some pups too!
Number 3: A night off!
This is SUCH an understated gift. Dog moms do SO MUCH. Not only do they have to go about their normal human duties, but they’re also caring for their beloved pups. A day of doing some of the admittedly less fun doggy chores (cleaning poop, buying dog food, or maybe a walk in freezing temperatures?) for that dog mom in your life may just be exactly what she needs. Get creative - make a cute card or a little dog mom coupon book. (Probably wouldn’t hurt to throw in a few dog mom friendly treats, too!) Leave the snuggling and playing to her that day, and do the dirty work for her.
Number 4: Plan a dog friendly date night.
Do your research and figure out where you can take your dog mom and her pup for a fun night out. I know something that brings me immense joy is going on a new adventures with both Benji and his dad. Hikes, picnics, or dog friendly breweries, outdoor markets, or local dog friendly events are all options that we often use. We’ll be following up with a list of all our favorite dog friendly breweries in the Chicagoland area soon!
Number 5: Last but not least, a gift for her dog…
Us dog moms ADORE when someone thinks of our pups and brings them a present, too.
Some of our favorites include…
For a fancy treat: A Pupcuterie board from Pupcuterieboards.com (Pst - Subscribing Pack Members get a special discount!) Bonus if you plan a matching human charcuterie board! How romantic!
A subscription box to Super Chewer or Bark Box with a matching wine or book of the month subscription for your dog momma!
