Foster Feature: Rolling With Pop!

Adoptable at The Animal Pad

Pop’s Story

Pop is a 32 pound 2 year old cattle dog/white shepherd mix originally from Mexico. At 3 months old, he was tragically attacked by another dog, and had no immediate intervention. His back was broken, and he lost use of his hind legs . Despite multiple surgeries, Pop was not able to regain use of his back half. However, this doesn’t stop him from living his best life and playing like any other dog! He isn’t in any pain, and has the most contagious joyful spirit!

Pop loves humans and other 4 legged friends (dogs & cats)! His favorite game in the world is fetch, and he’s pretty fast! He is incredibly easy going when it comes to diaper changes, and will let you do what needs to be done without complaint. A versatile dog, he’s down to stay in and snuggle or go out on any adventure. Don’t let his wheels put the brakes on him joining your family! He’s just like any other good boy - just with an extra set of wheels!

Pop’s Ideal Home

  • Work from home parents or a flexible work schedule

  • Would be an awesome 2nd doggo, as he would really love a fur sibling to play with!

  • Can manage a basic care routine

  • Someone to love him and give him the great doggy life full of adventures and snuggles!

  • Is located in or near San Diego, CA

  • Other notes: Pop is crate trained!

    • Sleeps in a crate

    • Good with kids and other furry friends (dogs & cats)

Pop’s Care Routine:

As Pop does not have function in his back half and is incontinent, he needs some help when it comes to potty breaks. His foster mom says his routine is relatively easy! He can be manipulated to poop, and wears belly bands to keep him from leaking. At minimum, he needs to be changed 3 times a day. (Mid-day is key, so a flexible work schedule is a must!)

He has all his gear and equipment ready to take home including 2 sets of wheels and a ton of diapers! He will periodically need wheel changes or fixes, which can cost around $500. Diapers are about $20 for a pack of 30, of which he will use about 3-4 a day.
