Being A Better Dog Mom in 2022

New Years Resolutions for Dog Moms Everywhere

dog mom resolutions

It’s the time of year for New Year’s resolutions. While many people are mapping out ways to eat healthier, exercise more, or try a new hobby - I’ve been thinking about how those goals can apply to Benji. Below you’ll find my list of ways I intend to become a better dog mom this year. If you’ve got your own list, I’d love to hear it - send it to me at thedogmapack@gmail.com

Number 1: Plan more adventures together

From exploring new dog parks to hiking new trails and planning dog friendly vacations - I can’t wait to take Benji to lots of new places this year. Top of my list? Exploring Wisconsin, Minnesota and Colorado.

Number 2: Make some dog friendly treats!

Cooking and baking have never been strengths of mine. However, I’ve always been concerned about what is in Benji’s food and treats. This year, I want to make sure he’s got the best and healthiest ingredients, and I’ll be sure to share them here as I find them!

Number 3: Try a new dog friendly activity

I’ve recently learned that there is a strong community of dog athletes in the north suburbs of Chicago. We’re always looking to find new ways to entertain Benji, and make some dog parent friends along the way!

Number 4: Incorporate Benji into my exercise routine

One goal I set for myself was 10k steps a day - a great goal to include Benji in! More daily walks, hikes and runs is on the list for us.

Number 5: Continue volunteering regularly at our local rescue

Giving back to dogs in need is a cause near and dear to my heart. I look forward to spending 2022 helping other pups find their dog moms, dads and forever homes.

Number 6: Give Benji better mental exercise

Benji has some working breeds in him, and could definitely benefit from more mental stimulation. We’ll be giving puzzle toys a try this year.

Number 7: Make more doggy friends!

Benji is a very social dog and loves interacting with other pups. With the pandemic, its been hard to socialize him as often as we’d like. This year, we’re committed to finding safe and fun ways to grow Benji’s friend list.

Number 8: Build our community!

Our last resolution is to continue building a community of amazing #DogObssessed individuals like yourselves. We’re committed to continuing to learn, explore and connect with all of you!
